VELIM: The feast of St Francis Xavier was celebrated with pomp and gaiety at St Francis Xavier Church Velim on Saturday.
Fr Joseph Fernandes was the main celebrant for the high mass and stressed on humanity to become Angels of peace, love with mercy towards others, neighbours, family, friends and enemies too.
To become true Christians, follow the footsteps of Jesus as Mother Mary and St Francis Xavier followed him, he said.
The feast was also celebrated at Bellem in Navelim, Tembim and Borim Church.
At Raia near the junction holy litany recited near the St Francis Xavier Cross.
