PONDA: Veling Priol Kuncoliem Sarpanch Mangaldas Gaude along with panchas has sought government cooperation in the solving garbage disposal problem at tourist parking space near Manguesh Temple at Mangueshi.
He said Government provides Rs one lakh towards garbage disposal per year which is not sufficient for panchayat on account of the heaps garbage generated at tourism spot at Mangueshi. The tourist litter the spot with leftover food and other waste including plastic on daily basis and this needs to addressed by the Tourism Department.
The local shop owners too have dumped garbage at the entrance of main gate leading to the temple. Foreigner and locals too have posted the pictures on social media of the garbage.

He said, in absence of toilet facilities, tourists are forced to defecate in the open. The Tourism Department has failed to provide a toilet facility and hotel owned by the department has been is lying vacant and in a dilapidated state.
The lack of proper disposal system at tourist spot, the locals have blamed the panchayat for the current mess at parking spot.
