PANJIM: Alleging a massive Rs 120 to 130 crore corruption in the Smart City works, a complaint has been filed before the Vigilance Department demanding immediate investigation and criminal action against those responsible.
Complainant Shailendra Velingkar has alleged that illegalities and financial frauds have been committed in the works of the Smart City Mission by then Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Swayandipta Pal Chaudhari in the bank accounts of the Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) and also in implementation of Smart City projects.
He has alleged that the then CEO had undertaken implementation of the projects allegedly after expiry of the fixed term period of his appointment in connivance with the then board of directors.
Velingkar asked for a thorough probe through the Vigilance Department and demanded that directions be issued to recover excess salaries of Rs 31,83,700 paid to Swayandipta Pal Chaudhuri even after expiry of fixed term period of appointment as per mission guidelines.
