MARGAO: Vencilla Fernandes has been elected unopposed as the sarpanch of the Cana-Benaulim Panchayat.
Vencilla got the support of seven panchas. This is the first big change in the Benaulim Panchayat after the Zilla Parishad election.
After election, Vencilla informed that she will continue with the development works under the panchayat jurisdiction and thanked Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao and the panchas for supporting her.
Alemao said that the panchas without any self-benefit have given all they have for the panchayat and the people of Benaulim.
The Benaulim MLA requested the new sarpanch to take all the panchas in confidence to carry out the panchayat’s development works.
