PANJIM: The Sessions Judge will pronounce on Thursday the judgment in a sexual assault case involving suspended police constable Waman Naik.
Naik, presently behind bars for over two years, was arrested on charges of sexually abusing women rescued from trafficking and extorting money from them. He had surrendered before the High Court in January 2013 after the Additional Sessions Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea on December 18, 2012.
Naik, another head constable Santosh Vengurlekar and constable Vijay Gaikwad were suspended from service after the Crime Branch filed an FIR against them for alleged links with commercial sex workers and pimps.
