MAPUSA: Biodiversity management committee of Verla Canca has begun the process to complete people’s biodiversity register.
A function was held at Verla Canca Panchayat where Dr Pradip Sarmokadam, member secretary of (GSBD) was the chief guest, Sarpanch of Verla Canca Milton Marques, Chairman of Bio diversity Aishwarya Salgaonkar.
Dr Sarmokadam said that registration process of people’s biodiversity register of 190 panchayats has already been completed and process of remaining panchayats is ongoing. “We are expecting to have all PBR’s ready by December end and we will have validation by January 15,” he said.
Sarmokadam informed that, “Once all PBRs are validated, a conservation programme will be held in each village based on the outcome of the PBRs.”
