VASCO: Following a complaint by a 30-year-old woman, the Verna police on Tuesday booked a rape case against one Francisco Duorado, a resident of Pirni, Verna and a British passport holder.
According to the police, the victim woman lodged a complaint alleging that Duorado had sexual intercourse with her on the promise of marrying her.
Police said that the victim claimed that the accused also took cash of Rs 1 lakh and a gold chain from her.
“As per the complainant woman, the accused had come down to Goa on August 9, 2017 and on August 19 at Pirni Verna the accused committed sexual intercourse with her besides taking away cash and gold ornament from her and further threatened her with dire consequences if she disclose the incident to anyone, thereby cheating the complaint,” police said.
Police have registered the case under Section 354, 376, 420, 506(ii) of IPC. However, before police could arrest the accused person he was reportedly absconding. Efforts are on to trace the accused person.
