VASCO: The Verna police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old from Bethora, Pondafor performing stunts on road thereby endangering public lives.
Police said that the youth Muktar Ritti, while proceeding from Goa IDC water tank at Verna towards a company with his two-wheeler, performed stunts and rode his scooter in a rash and reckless manner, endangering lives of the pillion rider, passersby and his own life.
The police further said that the accused was not wearing a helmet while riding and his two-wheeler did not have any registration number plate and rear view mirrors, thereby violating the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act and Central Motor Vehicle Rules.
The Verna police have registered a case against Muktar under sections 279 and 336 of IPC and under section 129 of the Motor Vehicles Act and under sections 125 and 50 of Central Motor Vehicle Rules.
