MARGAO: Verna Police have registered an offence against N Sundar Swamy, major in age and native of Haddo South Andaman and Nicobar Island, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old girl after making a promise of marriage.
Based on the complaint, Police Sub-Inspector Pravin Shimepurashkar has registered an offence under Section 376 and 420 of IPC against the alleged accused.
As per the complaint lodged at the Verna Police Station, from April 27 to June 7, 2022, the alleged accused person befriended the victim and took her to his house near RTO Office Sathuvachari Vellore, Tamil Nadu and under the pretext of marriage had sexual intercourse on several occasion and failed to marry her.
