VASCO: The Verna Police team cracked the blind murder case of Diya Naik (18), a resident of New Vaddem, Vasco within 24 hours by arresting a youth from the same locality.
The police arrested Kishan Kalangutkar (26) of New Vaddem, Vasco on the charge of murdering the girl at Dando-Velsao Beach, on Wednesday.
Police said that the accused took the victim to a secluded place at Dando Beach and stabbed her to death. Later, he threw the body in the bushes and fled.
Verna Police Station Police Inspector Diago Gracias is investigating the case under the supervision of Vasco Deputy Superintendent of Police Nilesh Rane.
