VASCO: The Verna police arrested a 21-year-old Pankaj Sharda, a native of Uttar Pradesh, and currently residing at Vasco on the charge of stabbing a youth at Consua, Cansaulim. The accused was arrested while he was attempting to flee the State, on Wednesday.
Police said that Sharda allegedly stabbed Lavkush (26) from Uttar Pradesh, and presently residing at Consua, with a knife, thereby inflicting grievous to him. The incident has occurred on March 26, and since then the accused was absconding.
On Wednesday, the police received credible information that the accused was seen at the Vasco Railway Station and is planning to flee the State, immediately a police team headed by PSI Utkrantrao Desai rushed to the railway station and arrested him.
The Verna police have registered a case against Sharda under Section 326 of IPC and PSI Utkrantrao Desai is conducting further investigation under the guidance of Verna PI Diogo Gracias and overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
