PANJIM: A victim of commercial sexual exploitation, who exposed the unholy of police-pimp nexus, has been repatriated to her native Jharkhand.
Director, NGO ARZ Arun Pandey said that Crime Branch of Jharkhand Police took over her custody after all necessary procedures were complete.
The Sub Divisional magistrate had recently issued her release order. “All procedures were complete including the scene panchanama, identification of the policemen, statement recording among other formalities,” he said.
To ensure the victim is present during the further course of investigation and case trial, a bond has been taken from the Jharkhand police and the girl herself.
In November 2012, two rescued victims of flesh trade had accused one Anwar Shah of supplying call girls including themselves to policemen posted at Mapusa, Bicholim and Calangute police stations since 2010.
Both girls, hailing from Jharkhand and Mumbai were rescued in a prostitution raid conducted three months back in Calangute and since then they have been lodged at Protective Home, Merces. The victims had even accused a constable of sodomising a transgender in Calangute.
The Crime Branch of Goa Police is investigating the nexus. However, the absconding cop Vaman Naik is yet to be traced while also the arrests of two other policemen identified by the victims – Santosh Vengurlekar and Vijay Gaikwad are yet to be made.
