MARGAO: A crocodile strayed into residential locality in Comba, Margao. The photos and videos of the reptile went viral on social media recently.

A crocodile was spotted by passerby along the road opposite a cement warehouse between 12 am and 1 am on Friday.

The locals informed to the Forest Department Wildlife Rescue Squad, which rescued the crocodile.

Margao Range Forest Officer Prakash Naik said, “The crocodile is a full grown adult and may have ventured upstream from the nearby fields in Comba”.

The crocodile was later taken to Bondla and following primary check, was released in its natural habitat.
