MARGAO: Villagers of Velim were sensitised on vigilance as a part of Vigilance Awareness at gram sabha organised by ONGC Ipshem in order to make the public aware about the integrity, vigilance and corruption at Velim Panchayat, recently.
A total of around 100 villagers, panchas and ONGC officials participated.
Dr Ashutosh Kumar, general manager-head, vigilance, ONGC, Mumbai enlightened the villagers about the importance of vigilance awareness in general public.
He said, “Corruption in the society can be minimised by ensuring the participation of maximum number of citizens in such awareness programme.”
Dr Ashutosh pointed out that the objective of the sensitization programme is to create awareness on participative vigilance so as to bring in more transparency within the organisation as well as in public life.
Jute bags depicting vigilance awareness integrity, “A Way of Life” were also distributed.
