MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party that had taken up the matter of cutting around 200 fully grown trees by the roadside in Quepem municipality has now referred the matter to Vigilance department.
AAP Quepem coordinator Patricia Fernandes has now written about the matter to the Director of Vigilance as well as Secretary Vigilance asking for action to be taken against those responsible for cutting the trees.
She pointed out that she had earlier complained to the Quepem Municipal Council, Quepem Police and even the Forest Department but lamented that no action was taken by either of the authorities even though she had pointed out that some of the trees were sold for timber.
