PONDA: A female leopard died after it was hit by a speeding vehicle at Bethora-Borim bypass on Friday at 12.15 pm. The leopard was crossing the road when it was hit by the vehicle.
Locals rushed to rescue the injured animal and informed the forest officials. However, the wildcat died before the forest officials could arrive. It was taken to Bondla Zoo and cremated there after post mortem.
Two days ago a female leopard was rescued by forest officials after it was trapped in the cable trap laid for poaching of wild boar.
