PANJIM: TCP Minister and GFP President Vijai Sardesai and NCP MLA Churchill Alemao were amongst those MLAs who did not sign the all-party memorandum submitted to the Centre seeking solution to the mining crisis.
The duo was not a part of the delegation. Interestingly, both held meetings with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday morning at his personal residence at Dona Paula.
Sardesai was part of the all-party meeting held on March 1, which Alemao had skipped.
The others who signed the memorandum include Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant, PWD Minister Ramkrishna Dhavalikar, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, Opposition Leader Chandrakant Kavlekar, BJP MLAs Nilesh Cabral and Rajesh Patnekar, MGP MLA Deepak Pauskar, Congress MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar and Pratapsingh Rane and Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar.
Sardesai said, “Not signing the all-party delegation letter to Governor is completely unintentional. I was busy in a meeting with people today and hence I missed out in signing the letter.”
Churchill said, “I had no information about the delegation but I am with the Goans in the mining business and feel that mining shouldn’t stop.”
