VASCO: TCP Minister Vijai Sardessai has mocked the Congress saying that they are only trying to hold their flock together and nothing else. He alleged that the Congress is trying to sensationalise the political situation in the State.
Vijai was speaking after flagging off the All India Malayali Association (AIMA) aid which is its fourth consignment of relief material to Kerala food victims, on Saturday. Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar also attended the function.
On the ailment issue of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, he said, “The Congress is trying to overthrow a chief minister who is ailing and is in the hospital and this is not Goenkarponn.” He also challenged the Congress to come out with their numbers.
“Tell us how you will get numbers; come out clear. As far as we are concerned, we are not in talks with anyone whatsoever and if the MGP or someone is in talks with them they should come on record,” he said.
Tendulkar said, “The absence of the chief minister may have slightly slowed down development, but the government is stable. In fact, it is more stable than ever with five Congress men on our side and extending support.”
Dares Cong to disclose name of party in touch with it
PANJIM: Goa Forward Party (GFP) leader and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Saturday challenged the Congress to spell out the name of the party which is in touch with them to form a coalition government. “We are not in talks of any type with Congress nor are they talking to us,” Sardesai clarified. “Congress should make it clear if any party is in touch with them for the required numbers to form the government. If MGP is in touch with them then they can declare it as well,” Sardesai added. Amidst the prevailing political situation in Goa, GFP appears to have kept its cards close to the heart. There has been speculation that the party is in touch with Congress to form an alternative government in the State.
