The works will cost approximately Rs 1.20 crore. The stretch of road was in a sorry state for the past few years and was never repaired. Due to flooding, only recently a footpath installed on the road was removed to make way for proper drainage.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Sardesai MMC Councillors Sushilla Naik and Tito Cardozo were present at the inauguration.
Sardesai said, “This road has been in a dilapidated state for the past decade. But work couldn’t commence because of pending sewerage work. After receiving several complaints from the residents I am glad that this road will finally be given a fresh new coat of tar.” Sardesai has completed the works of three major roads in Fatorda in a span of one month.
