MARGAO: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai on Friday said that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has promised him that the government would intervene to save the structures atop Talsanzor.
He told the media in the presence of the parties that a petition would be immediately submitted by the residents to the Chief Minister to intervene and save the structures atop the hillock from demolition.
He recalled that the Chief Minister had assured him on the floor of the House in April that he would not allow any demolition at Talsanzor and would protect the interests of Goans.
Referring to the demolition notices served by the Comunidade Administrator on the Talsanzor residents, Sardesai said the people had applied for regularisation of their structures way back in 2001 when the BJP was in power. “It took the government 12 long years to tell these people that their plea for regularisation is rejected,” he said, while accusing the government for betraying the promises made to the people.
Sardessai said he was making a demand before the Chief Minister to protect the interests of the local people of Talsanzor and clear the confusion and doubts in their minds.
