“He is raising demands and not issues for general discussion on the budget. We cannot put questions on demands…I don’t mind answering but today is not the day scheduled to table demands,” Parrikar had charged.
Sardesai had questioned as to why the government had taken suo-motu cognizance of rape case against senior journalist Tarun Tejpal and alleged bribery case against leader of opposition Pratapsing Rane and legislator Vishwajeet Rane, while it did not pay heed to other critical cases.
He cited the March incident when a woman was tortured by her neighbours in Camurlim and an FIR in this case was registered only after a media campaign. He not only accused the government of ‘double talks’ on various issues but also alleged that many promises made and dreams shown to local citizens, were false. Sardesai stated, “If CM does not want to reply, its okay…,” to which Parrikar has said that he was not the minister of all portfolios, but would indeed reply to issues at the appropriate time.
