MARGAO: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has slammed Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar for trying to whip up communal passions over an editorial in the English daily Herald asking Goans to wake up against the government’s ill conceived decisions.
“How can the chief minister give a communal colour to the editorial when it was only asking Goans in general to wake up and fight for their rights? The message was given to all Goans, including Hindus, Catholics and Muslims. There was nothing communal in the statement. But, the chief minister is giving a communal colour to the editorial by whipping up communal tension to save his own skin,” the Fatorda MLA said.
