MARGAO: TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday inspected the road opposite the Vishal Megamart in Aquem and warned the mall management to either follow the rules or face the music in the future.
The Aquem residents after looking at the traffic scenario created by the mall had petitioned the minister to step in and help out.
The minister asked the police as well as the mall management to regulate the traffic and also manage the outer parking area. The Minister has warned the Vishal Megamart management that if they don’t regulate, the problem they would be made to shut down. “We always have the option of the post occupancy audit if the mart doesn’t fall in line. The SGPDA will use the same if they do not agree,” Vijai said.
The minister has observed that an artificial private parking has been created by the builder and vehicles are parked right till the road. The minister has advised to remove the same and keep the road area free from encumbrances.
