A short circuit in an AC can be triggered by faulty wiring, loose connections, overloaded circuits, or component failures, which can result in sparks or overheating that ignite nearby flammable materials. The Neighbours noticed the flames and quickly alerted the fire station, prompting the Porvorim fire brigade to respond and extinguish the fire. Despite their efforts, the AC unit, bed, sofa, table, false ceiling, and other household items were destroyed.
