PONDA: Vishant Gaonkar was elected sarpanch of Bethora Panchayat on Wednesday.
Of the 11 panchas, eight of them were present for special meeting held to elect a sarpanch.
The sarpanch’s post fell vacant following Durgaprasad Vaidya’s resignation.
The panchas who attended the meeting were Manda Gaude, Durgaprasad Vaidya, Guru Salelkar, Ujwala Gaude, Vishant Gaonkar, Vikas Prabhu and Anupa Naik.
