PANJIM: Newly appointed Chairman of ESG governing council has reacted sharply when asked about his absence at the IFFI inaugural saying he has not been made chairman. The press note that has been issued is a joke, it is an insult to me. The press note is taking people for a ride. “I have been insulted so I did not come, an upset Wagh reacted.
“All that is there, is a noting from the Information Department. My chairman was there, why does the Vice Chairman need to be there (at the inaugural)?” Wagh questioned.
Elaborating further, Wagh said, “All that Parrikar is offering is Chairmanship of the Governing Council and a notification has to been issued.”
In a late night conversation with Herald, Wagh denied he was absent, saying he was sitting at his ESG office attending to people’s problems. “I am very much in charge and I will see that IFFI runs smoothly,” he assured. “I will ensure that Jaya and Amitabh are brought here to grace the 44th IFFI,” Wagh said.
