PANJIM: The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused Health Minister Vishwajit Rane of doling out jobs from his bungalow at Dona Paula in alleged violation of the election code of conduct and has filed a complaint with the EC in this regard.

In its complaint, the BJP has stated that Health Minister has handed over appointment orders to selected candidates at his bungalow at Dona Paula despite the code of conduct coming into force on December 24.

The BJP has also filed complaints against Departments of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AHVS), Provedoria and PWD for alleged violation of code of conduct.

In respect of its complaint against AHVS it has submitted a list of names, designations and the date of appointment of candidates selected after the code of conduct came into force. Many candidates who received appointment orders were asked to join immediately.

Not only the code of conduct has been violated by AHVS, age of candidates too have been manipulated. Many of them are over-aged and needs thorough investigation, the complaint stated.

The BJP has also complained over appointments of police officers to politically sensitive police stations on the basis of a report published in the Herald, on Wednesday and has demanded that EC review and reverse the postings of these cops immediately.
