Vishwajit meets demolition affected families in Saleli

Assures to build them houses under 20-point programme; Offers immediate help of Rs 1 lakh each to the two affected families

VALPOI: The Health Minister Vishwajit Rane visited Saleli and met with the families whose houses built on Water Resources Department land were demolished, recently.
The affected families belong to the economically backward Dhangar Samaj.
During his meeting, Rane assured his full support to the two affected families and promised to build houses for them under the Twenty-Point programme in Podashe village.
“This is Water Resources department land and you built houses on that land. So, whatever the government has done keep that thing aside. Immediately, you will be rehabilitated and I will help you financially. I will give per family one lakh rupees to pay your loan amounts,” the minister said.
For the time being, he advised both families to find a rented accommodation. “Take a rented house and I will pay the rent. On Monday, I will meet with WRD officials and will tell them to rehabilitate the two families immediately,” the minister said.
Opposition Leader Babu Kavlekar also visit at Saleli and assured the affected people that he would raise their issue in the coming winter session.
