PANJIM: Industrialist Vishwasrao Dempo, a co-founder of the Dempo Group of Companies, expired Saturday evening. He was 71.
His funeral will leave from his Dona Paula bungalow at 11 am on Sunday, for the St Inez crematorium.
Dempo, died at Manipal Hospital in Dona Paula after a brief illness
He was the son of late Vaicuntrao Dempo, and father of Yatish and Rajesh, as well as uncle of Dempo Group chairman Srinivas Dempo.
The family has requested that condolences be paid at the Dempo ancestral house at St Cruz later.
Besides being the director of Dempo Group of Companies, Vishwasrao was also the trustee of the Dempo Charities Trust, which runs four prestigious educational institutions and undertakes philanthropic activities.
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar condoled Vishwasrao’s death. Parsekar said that apart from business activity, Vishwasrao was actively involved in socio-cultural activities. He expressed his sympathies to the family and prayed that his soul rests in peace.
