Volunteer groups to help patients, needy with medicines, food

PANJIM: Good Samaritans and volunteer groups have geared up to take up the challenge during the declared short lockdown period of around 83 hours—from 7 pm on April 29 to 6 am on May 3 amid spike in daily cases.

The volunteers are set to reach out to home isolation patients, poor and the vulnerable group with medicines and food.

Shruti Chaturvedi, with a network of 60 volunteers, has been extending assistance to COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 affected individuals. Shruti has created a website to bring all important resources under one umbrella. She also stated that all her volunteers will continue to help vulnerable and elderly with medicines, government (home isolation) kits, ambulances, etc.

“Pharmacies listed on covidcaregoa.in will deliver meds in the locations mentioned. For emergency you can always drop your query on our Whatsapp group,” is what she said through her Twitter handle @adhicutting.

Covid Service Goa, group assisting people in need will also be on the streets reaching out to all the needy.
