PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday called upon Goans not to waste their votes and to vote for AAP if they want Goa to develop under an honest government.
Kejriwal who is on a visit to Goa addressed several public meetings throughout the State where he received huge response.
Addressing the media, he said, “People must vote for AAP if they want Goa to develop under an honest government. If Goans want to defeat BJP they must unite and vote for AAP instead of letting their votes be divided. Voting for Congress, MGP, GFP is a waste of time; their leaders will only defect to the BJP after winning.”
He further said, “Goa suffers from a Rs 24,000 crore debt because of BJP and Congress. AAP will not just eliminate all of Goa’s debts but also bring the state to profit. BJP-Congress both have together given Goa broken roads, poor infrastructure and terrible schools and unemployment. Goa has given 27 years to Congress, 15 to BJP, giving them 5 more will only add to their loot. AAP has done such fantastic work in Delhi that people have forgotten about BJP-Congress. Just give one chance to AAP, we will make everyone forget about BJP-Congress with our tremendous work”, he added.
Kejriwal also took the opportunity to point out that the BJP government’s lack of intent for development and said, “When the PM came to Goa recently a brand-new helipad was built for him within 24 hours. We’re not criticising him but we saw an irony. The irony of the matter is that right next to the site of the PM’s helipad, a bus stop was to be built. That bus stop hasn’t come up in 20 years. AAP just wants to assure Goans that when a government has intent they can do anything and everything they want. Today, the BJP Government only works for the VIPs. For AAP, however, every resident of Goa is a VIP. All the facilities being availed by the ministers, MLAs, MPs, will all be provided to the common man by us. The speed by which the PM’s helipad was made will also be seen in building roads, bus stands, Rabindra Bhawans and all such public infrastructure.”
Referring to what he called the state of despair Goans are in right now, Kejriwal said, “Only two days are left for the polls now. This is no ordinary election, this is Goa’s chance for change. This election can change the present and future of Goa. The people of Goa gave the Congress 27 years and the BJP 15 years. These parties did nothing for Goa as a whole. On the contrary, these two parties worked together to plunder Goa. They haven’t done anything for you. Today, Goa’s roads are in disrepair, the state has a water shortage, an electricity outage, children are unemployed, and health and education services have collapsed. These parties are to blame for Goa’s current state of disaster. If you give these parties another five years in the run, this loot will continue. Nothing is going to get better in Goa. They intend to do nothing for the next five years. They are only coming to loot Goa,” he added.
