Voters’ ire towards defectors will help me in winning, says Ramrao Wagh

AAP St Andre candidate says people are upset over pending development works

St Andre: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from St. Andre constituency, Ramrao Wagh believes the voters are upset over candidates switching sides from one party for their personal benefits, which will lead to the electorates voting for him. In large numbers.

“We started campaigning immediately after AAP decided to give me the ticket under their banner. We had kick-started our door-to-door campaigning from the day AAP leader and Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal visited Goa,” Wagh said.

Adding he said, “We have almost finished with the campaigning. As the elections are approaching, the process is accelerating. On an average we cover 200 to 300 households of constituency per day. Almost 65 households are being covered so far and we have planned to cover to reach out to every household in coming week.”

The AAP candidate said he was getting good response from people during the door-to-door campaign. “One can easily make out from the response of people that they don’t want to give chance to the incumbent MLA who has switched sides from Congress party to the BJP. Almost 99 percent of the people are openly confessing that they will vote against the ruling party. People say there is no place for defection. AAP is the only party they are looking as an alternative to vote for. I am confident that for a change, people will vote an educated and clean and corruption free personality like me,” he said.

He added that this is a sole constituency wherein the percentage of women voters are greater compared to that of males. In addition to this, this constituency is the one consisting of senior citizens who need care.

This constituency is under-developed and there is lot of scope for development in here. From last five years much of the developmental work pertaining to agricultural, employment, business, infrastructure and other developmental work are pending. People are upset over irregular supply of water, erratic power outrage and bad condition of internal roads.

“AAP is the only way out of all the problems. AAP is capable of working and delivering for the benefit of people. Give one chance to us and AAP will find solution to all the ground level problems, appealed Wagh.

The AAP candidate Ramrao Wagh faces challenge from Francisco Silveira, incumbent MLA of St. Andre constituency, Jagdish Bhobe of Trinamool Congress (TMC), Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). The fate of candidates lies in the hands of 21,000 voters belonging to seven village panchayats of St. Andre constituency.
