Panjim: Nitin Kunkolienkar, the Vice President of Manufacturers Association for Information Tech (MAIT) and Director of Smartlik has congratulated the Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar and Defence Ministry for organising the Defence Expo at Quitol.
Nitin who was at the Defence Expo on Wednesday after seeing the exhibition has requested the Government to make Quitol a permanent destination for Defence Expo. “There is a negligible amount of people who are opposing the Defence Expo at Quitol. The amount of business and the income which the Expo has given to locals will speak for itself,” he said.
“Much more could have been done if there was no opposition and if set up in 20 days gives so much to Goa, we can imagine the scale if they got enough time. It is time that we stop opposing and support the endeavours which bring good name to Goa,” he said.
“The international expos which generally happen at Dubai, Germany and other locations can be brought to Goa which will benefit all Goans for generations to come,” he said.
“Tourism Department has to stop spending money under the guise of tourist promotion by sending delegations abroad, but work to get good infrastructure for such events and everyone from the state has to support the expo,” Nitin said.
Kunkolienkar praised the Directorate of Defence Exhibitions for setting up such a huge show in a mere 25 days and has demanded to make the location a permanent venue of Defence Expo.
