MAPUSA: Anjuna police arrested one Lalrinnunnaj Lal Fakzuala (22), a Mizoram native, for allegedly raping a 63-year-old woman. The victim is the owner of a hotel where the accused was working as a waiter.
According to police, the incident occurred late night on Tuesday when the accused allegedly entered into the room of victim and raped her. The accused also attempted to murder the victim. However, the other staff of the hotel rescued the victim. Police said that the accused attempted to murder the victim with the help of pillow. Police have registered a case against the accused under Section 376, 342 and 307 of IPC.
The accused was produced before a Mapusa court which remanded him in police custody for seven days. Anjuna police is investigating the case.
