A late-night firing incident turned a hotel in Ranchi into a crime scene after armed men allegedly linked to gangster Prince Khan opened fire when a Rs 1 crore extortion demand was not met. The attack left a waiter dead and triggered panic among staff and customers.
The incident took place late Saturday night at a hotel located on Airport Road in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. According to police and eyewitnesses, two attackers arrived on a motorcycle and suddenly started firing multiple rounds inside the premises.

During the attack, a waiter working at the hotel was critically injured after being hit by a bullet. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the hotel management had recently received an extortion demand of around Rs 1 crore from individuals allegedly associated with Prince Khan’s gang. Police suspect that the firing was carried out to intimidate the hotel owners after the demand was not met.
After the incident, the attackers fled the scene on their motorcycle. Police teams reached the spot soon after and began an investigation. CCTV footage from the hotel and nearby areas is being examined to identify the suspects.
Security has also been tightened in the area, and police have launched a search operation to trace the attackers. Officials said efforts are underway to determine the exact role of the gangster’s network in the incident.
