Wanted Uzbek woman arrested at Dabolim

VASCO: A Uzbek national facing Interpol’s Red Corner Notice since 2013 was arrested on Wednesday from the Dabolim International Airport by the Dabolim police. The accused has been lodged under judicial custody at Colvale jail.

VASCO: A Uzbek national facing Interpol’s Red Corner Notice since 2013 was arrested on Wednesday from the Dabolim International Airport by the Dabolim police. The accused has been lodged under judicial custody at Colvale jail.
The woman was wanted by the Uzbekistan police for human trafficking. 
According to Dabolim police, the woman, identified as Lola Khakimova, and presently residing at Mumbai, was apprehended at the departure immigration clearance counter of the airport while she was intending to depart to Dubai via Muscat by Oman Air flight (WY-210) on Wednesday early morning.
Police said that one immigration officer namely Akash Gupta, attached to Bureau of Immigration Dabolim airport apprehended the woman as she is wanted in Uzbekistan for commission of offence for the charge of human trafficking. 
“She was required under look out circular and red notice control (2013) originated by Central Bureau of Investigation, International Police Cooperation Unit, National Central Bureau-India Interpol, Delhi and wanted by Uzbekistan police. The accused woman has been placed under arrest under Section 41 CrPC and has been lodged under judicial custody at Colvale Central jail. We have already intimated the CBI, Interpol, AD/NCB and have informed about the apprehension of the accused person and further requested them to send their team at the earliest to seek custody in their matter,” police said.
