PANIM: Against the backdrop of Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) fining Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim for dumping and burning of waste from the hospital in its premises, a private company engaged in housekeeping services at the GMC has denied their involvement in the matter.
The company has written to GMC Dean stating that they had inwarded their reply to the show cause notice on June 8, wherein they have said that the subject matter does not fall within their scope of work of current agreement for housekeeping services.
It may be recalled that the GSPCB has fined GMC, Rs 25,000 for burning waste in the GMC premises. The penalty amount has to be paid to the North Goa District Collector.
