MARGAO: Water entered into some shops, including a clinic after a pipeline burst at Davorlim on Saturday, with local residents claiming that a similar incident had occurred at the same spot about two months ago.
The shop owners claimed that the waters damaged grocery items as water gushed into the shops from the damage pipeline. Locals pointed out that thousands of litres of water from the pipeline went waste as it took considerable time to stop the water flow.
Shop owners pointed out that the water pipeline is repeatedly damaged after the expansion of the road. “When the road was narrow, the pipeline was passing alongside the road, but is now located right beneath the middle of the road after the expansion,” a local resident said, adding that the pipeline is left damaged due to plying of heavy vehicles on
the road.
