BICHOLIM: With rains lashing the State non-stop on Thursday, the water level in Bicholim River has risen sharply.
Since morning there was heavy rainfall reported in the taluka, causing the water level to rise in Bicholim River and Walvanti River in Sanquelim. Taking stock of the situation, Bicholim Mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit has asked the WRD to pump out excess water from Walvanti River.
Even in Bicholim, water was pumped out. The mamlatdar said that the situation is under control.
