SANGUEM: The main pipeline supplying drinking water to Uguem and other nearby villages burst at Vikas Nagar Uguem after a car reportedly hit the pipeline.
Due to the burst in the pipeline, the water to Uguem and other surrounding villages was immediately stopped. The water gushing out of the burst pipeline formed a large water fountain attracting a large number of people.On account of the huge water fountain, vehicular traffic on the road was stopped for some time as small stones were also found accompanying the flow of water.
Work on the repair of the pipeline was underway and water to the affected areas will be restored soon, informed sources from the water supply department.
