Water pipelines broken in fresh landslide at Kerya

PONDA: Two parallel water pipelines at Kerya Khandepar were broken on Friday evening due to a landslide and water from the broken pipelines were gushing out before the water supply division personnel rushed to the spot and repaired it. However, some areas of Ponda city were had to go without water for the rest of the day.
A local disclosed that earlier the pipelines were laid at top of the hills, but after highway was widened, the pipelines were laid at the foot of the hills. 
Meanwhile, all along the two km stretch of road at Kerya Khandepar, landslides have been occurring at regular intervals and making the national highway slippery. 
According to locals though the fresh landslides will not affect the vehicular traffic, but it is sure to make the road slippery.
