PONDA: Over the past few days, commuters on the Kerya Khandepar stretch have been witnessing what they call a ‘waterfall’ from
the under construction service road sinkhole.
And everytime it pours heavily, water gushes all the more from the huge sink hole with commuters puzzled about its source.
Locals said the work on the two lane service road at Kerya Khandepar has been going on a war footing by the side of four-lane Highway after chopping hills.
While some commuters say that the gushing water may be due to a damaged pipeline here, others opine that it could be on account of an underground spring that could have been damaged during hill cutting.
Even as the contractor has constructed a retaining wall with provisions to drain the water, it still gushes from the sink hole of the service road.
Locals have now demanded that the authorities construct a proper drainage system to prevent landslides here.
