MAPUSA: A 50-year-old woman from West Bengal was found dead at a construction site at Siolim on Wednesday.
Speaking to O Heraldo, Mapusa DySP Jivba Dalvi said the woman and her husband used to quarrel earlier but on the day of the incident no quarrel was reported between them. However, both of them had been drinking alcohol since morning.
Upon receiving the information of the death of the woman, who was identified as Laxmi Marde, the Anjuna police rushed to the spot and carried out an investigation.
The body has been sent to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Bambolim, for post-mortem.
After the post-mortem exact reason of death could be ascertained, DySP Dalvi said.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigation is in progress, he added.
