PANJIM: Reacting to Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco resigning as MLA, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat said that the Congress Party has successfully faced many storms, floods and Tsunamis and that party functionaries have strength and mettle to defeat opportunists.
“Congress Party is here to form the government in 2022. I am committed to lead Congress to a thumping victory,” said Kamat.
AICC In-Charge for Goa Dinesh Gundu Rao said, “People who do things selfishly and betray trust will face the consequences. After taking whatever he could and misleading us till the last minute, if he could lie and cheat us, I am sure the voters of Curtorim will teach him a befitting lesson.”
“Congress Party is undeterred and unfazed by his decision,” he said.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar said that Lourenco was always in an unstable mind and was never with the party. He was always in a confused State and I doubt whether he will be stable wherever he goes.
He said that Lourenco often criticised him but he decided to forget it for the sake of unity in the party. At the same time, he said that the people will judge and punish traitors like Lourenco.
Chodankar said that the Congress has been fighting against the BJP by exposing various scams and it was unfortunate that the TMC instead of supporting was demoralising the oppositions.
