Why is the Goa Congress getting nervous about keeping its flock together?
Extract: Is the GPCC president’s distress call about its future MLAs getting “poaching offers” an attempt to prevent the inevitable… It will be a crime against the people of Goa if this mandate is manipulated and twisted by buyers and sellers. More than the buyer, Goans will not forgive the seller of the people’s mandate.

On Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary, the Cong should mourn the loss of leadership
Let the current legislative wing and the organisation wing, ask honestly, 1) Did all the people of Goa who did not want the BJP to come to power trust the Congress to be a united opposition force that would not compromise. Congress made pledges and promises in many religious places. But the point do they achieve 100 % trust of the people. People know the answer.

Defectors, do not underestimate people power
Betrayal of the mandate is not an option. The people should and will teach any MLA who tries to defect in the name of so-called development or for the constituency. Goans have had enough and any defection will not be seen as an isolated event in one constituency but will have a ripple effect of anger across the talukas, districts, and the State….If any MLA either immediately after getting elected or later decides to leave a party alone or with a group, it might well be the last political act they do.

Any political party which “touches” defectors will be digging its own political grave
Yes, absolute political untouchability has to be practiced against defectors because they are betrayers. They have betrayed not just their parties, but their land and their people.
No party should even think of taking a single defector into the party, forget giving a ticket.

After all the defector horses have bolted, the Congress says there will be no defections
The AICC “observer”, the venerable Mr. P Chidambaram, made the grand announcement that there will be no more defectors from the Congress.
Where was this promise when 10 MLAs left and the party did nothing? The Goa Congress is trying to block exit points after its house has crumbled. Blocking Luizinho Faleiro from staking a claim in 2017, was not a mistake. It was a deal by the AICC top man in the State with the central ruling party. Starting from the very first day of the Assembly when Vishwajit Rane resigned immediately after being sworn in as MLA. Since then, Congress has not really managed to keep any security guard to stop is MLAs from moving out. So they will not lose anymore because it has no one to lose.
