MARGAO: Alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is engaged in destroying the democracy and constitution of India, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Bannerjee opens the doors of her party to all the like-minded political parties in order to defeat the BJP in Goa. She also assured a new dawn in Goa by defeating BJP in the next assembly elections. Mamata declares ‘Khell Zatlo, BJP-cho Khell Zatlo’!
Addressing a large gathering at Dando ground, Benaulim, in the function to induct Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao and his daughter Valanka Alemao into the party, Mamata promised Goans to keep smiling. She was very much excited to see the crowd gathered in support of Churchill Alemao. Mamata charged the BJP on several issues and alleged that BJP is a ‘Feku’ party.
In her 23 minutes speech, Mamata appealed to the Congress party, besides others, to join hands if they really want to get rid of the BJP government in Goa.
“Congress can join or be in an alliance with TMC if they want to defeat BJP. However, TMC will move ahead with a mission to bring a new dawn in Goa if Congress and other political parties don’t want to join hands. Let all of us come together and not allow the BJP to win in Goa, and also in other states. TMC is an alternative,” said Mamata.
Explaining what Trinamool means, she said it means roots. “And giving justice to people in the grassroots is our mission. Nobody can compare with the reforms we have done in Bengal. Fake videos are circulated by the “feku” party BJP to discredit us. In Bengal, even if there is waterlogging they send the CBI. But in Goa has any agency come to probe corruption, it will never happen because they are all with BJP,” said Mamata.
She further assured to formulate schemes for the youth, fishing community, besides all.
She further alleged that BJP is even involved in destroying the history of the nation, and historical events, and clarified that TMC is the party that is most secular amongst all other political parties.
Mamata wished the Goans for the 60th liberation day. People gathered at the venue witnessed the enthusiastic and exciting mode of Mamata at Benaulim. She even praised the tribal songs played at the venue.
At the meeting, NCPs lone MLA Churchill besides 39 others joined TMC at the gathering which was attended by large numbers of party supporters.
With the induction of Churchill, TMC got their first sitting MLA to strengthen the party mission in Goa. Churchill in his speech lashes out against Congress for keeping him waiting for nearly one year for an alliance. He said if there is anyone in the country who can become the Prime Minister by defeating BJP, it is Mamata Didi. If she becomes the PM, she will throw the BJP out.”
Earlier, Churchill submitted a letter to the Goa Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar stating that NCP Goa Legislative Party is henceforth merged with the Trinamool Congress Party (TMC).
He claimed that being the lone NCP MLA, he represents 100 per cent of the party’s legislative wing, and hence, the merger is valid as per the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution of India. He clarified that he has not resigned as MLA but should now be considered as TMC MLA.
Prominent among those who joined the TMC today included Jose R Cabral (Nuvem)who had recently joined the Congress, Samil Volvoikar (Cumbharjua), Maths Saldanha (Curtalim) ex AICC member, and four time Sarpanch, Shashank Desai former Chairperson of Cuncolim Municipal Council, and Rama Kankonkar, former AAP candidate.
