CALANGUTE: Calangute Police has recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the murder of a Czech woman at Calangute. Police sources told Herald that since the accused had been sighted near the railway tracks in Tivim on Tuesday night, a police team scoured the area and found the small knife near the railway tracks on Friday evening.
The police believe that the knife had been used in the murder of Marketa Horka (24) in a guesthouse at Calangute on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, doctors at the GMC hospital performed the autopsy on Saturday in the presence of officials from the Czech embassy.
The police, however declined to divulge the findings of the autopsy report, but said the body would be handed over to relatives on completion of formalities.
When asked for the possible motive behind the murder of Horka, Police Inspector Nilesh Rane said: “The accused, Pavel Neuhausl, is yet to disclose the motive behind the murder, though he has admitted to killing her by stabbing her in the neck and other places. We are still investigating the case.”
