PANJIM: The Old Goa police have recovered weapons used by accused persons to kill history-sheeter Vishal Golatkar at Merces.
Iron Koita (chopper) and the iron rod along with two bikes that were used by the accused persons in the crime have been recovered, the police informed.
It may be recalled that Golatkar was allegedly killed late night on July 15 by prime accused Sai Kundaikar alias Cobra and his accomplices Omkar Chari, Gauresh Gawas and Tushar Kundaikar, all residents of Merces and a minor. These accused persons were arrested by the police on July 16 and are presently in police custody.
Sai was in good terms with Golatkar, who used to ill-treat him. Sai couldn’t tolerate Golatkar, who at times, used to physically abuse him. This repetitive behaviour of Golatkar led Sai to plan the murder with the help of his aides. Sai provoked Golatkar to visit a place near his house, where he and others attacked the victim.
