PANJIM: Pooja Sharma one of the main accused in the Assagao House demolition case had filed an anticipatory bail application before the Sessions Court Panjim, after 8 days of the demolition incident, which happened on June 22, even as questions were raised as to why she was allowed time to file an anticipatory bail application.
The hearing in the case which scheduled to happen on Wednesday, has been adjourned by the Sessions court at Panjim to Friday. Pooja Sharma is being represented by senior counsel Adv Surendra Desai. Adv Desai had claimed protection by way of interim bail. The court observed that interim bail is implied when the notice is issued.
As regards the reason for adjournment, Adv Desai said the police have filed a big reply now against my client. Is Pooja Sharma innocent? Adv Surendra Desai said Pooja Sharma is innocent. “The allegations are absolutely false. She has nothing to do with this. She has just been brought in,” he said. “Although she is the owner somebody has interfered and created a problem,” he added.
When asked about the whereabouts of Pooja Sharma, Adv Desai said she is very much in Mumbai.
