Government grants will be disbursed to schools with Marathi or Konkani as the medium of education at the primary level and with English as a compulsory subject, and to minority schools subject to their using bilingual books and have Konkani or Marathi as a compulsory subject till Class IV. All schools established or aided by the government are granted recognition, while schools established by private managements and not aided by govt, will have to fulfill all the provisions of appropriate act and government order to be eligible for recognition.
All primary and secondary schools where the medium of education is not Marathi or Konkani will have to teach Konkani or Marathi as a compulsory subject till Class X to get govt recognition. All schools where the MoI is Konkani or Marathi should have English as compulsory subject from Class I to X.
